CStream Player is designed to need as little information about you as possible. There is no account to create, no password, no email required to use the app, and no advertising or analytics SDK in it.
What the app stores on your device
Your playlist details, profiles, favourites, watch progress and settings are stored on your device only. They are not uploaded to us. Uninstalling the app removes them.
What our servers receive
- A device identifier, hashed. On first run the app creates an anonymous licence record. It sends a one-way hash of your device's Android ID — never the ID itself. We use it for one purpose: so that reinstalling the app returns your existing trial or licence instead of starting a new free trial.
- An anonymous account id and a random secret. These identify your licence. They are not linked to your name or email.
- Your activation key, if you enter one, so we can check it is valid and mark it as used.
- Device name and last-seen time for devices you link to each other, so you can see and remove them.
- Ordinary server logs, including IP address, kept short-term to operate the service and limit abuse.
What we never receive
- Your playlist URL, provider, username or password.
- What you watch, when, or for how long.
- Your name, email or address — unless you contact us yourself.
Streaming goes direct
When you play something, your device connects to your provider. We are not in the middle of it and we do not see it.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent data, and we do not share it with advertisers. We use Google Firebase (Firestore) to store licence records and a hosting provider to run the service; they process data on our behalf. If a payment provider is used for a purchase, that provider handles your payment details — we never see your card number.
Retention
Licence records are kept while the licence is valid and for a reasonable period afterwards for support and accounting. Server logs are kept short-term.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about your licence, and ask for it to be deleted. Because the record is anonymous, we will need your activation key or account id to find it. Deleting it also ends the licence attached to it.
Children
The app is not directed at children, though it includes kids profiles for parents to use. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date above will change and the new version will be published here.
